The magnet within the Pot Magnet with Through Hole Mounting is a ring magnet. The space within the inner diameter of the ring magnet is the space for the screw of bolt head to fit within. We call this space a ‘clearance hole in ring magnet for screw/bolt head’ and show the size of this space as a diameter by length (the inner diameter and the height of the ring magnet). This allows designers to check whether their fixing bolt or screw will fit within the space (standard screws and bolts should all fit perfectly within the space available). The Pot Magnet with Through Hole Mounting contains a ferrite or NdFeB ring magnet within a steel casing. The steel casing is plated to give high corrosion resistance. The steel casing has a hole in it to allow the Pot Magnet with Through Hole Mounting to be easily fixed into position with a cap screw or a bolt into the boss. The design is extremely robust. Cylindrical Hole NdFeB Cup Magnet D38mm
An advantage of this design is that the fixing is done by clamping onto the steelwork rather than the magnet, allowing higher then normal tightening to be possible to ensure maximum secureness of fitting (such high clamping forces directly on magnets could break the magnets). Cylindrical Hole NdFeB Magnets in Steelpot D36mm
Neodymium pot magnets are made of a powerful Neodymium magnet borehole in to a steel shell meaning that the north pole is on the centre of the magnetic face and the south pole is on the outer edge around it. The steel pot increases the adhesive force of the magnets giving them an incredible hold for their size. An added advantage of pot magnets is that they are resistant to chipping or cracking following constant impact with a steel surface. These magnets are countersunk on the magnetic face and can be fixed to a surface with a 5mm screw, pot magnets are also available with boreholes and threaded studs.
